Day two of the 2021 NSGA Women’s Amateur and Senior Championship was much dryer today however still a bit windy and cool. Scores, on average, were lower and competitors are hoping for a change in the weather forecast for tomorrow.
16-year old Abbey Baker Ashburn Golf Club leads the way on the Amateur side with a two-day total of 154. Heather McLean KenWo Country Club sits just two shots back at 156 and Abbey’s sister, Haley Baker Ashburn Golf Club, is 6 shots back at a two-day total of 160.
Within the Mid-Amateur Division, home club’s Mireille Lewis Clare Golf & Country Club leads this group at 158. Mireille is just one shot ahead of Cristal Romero Eaglequest Grandview Golf & Country Club. Cristal sits at 159 for two days and Jennifer Comeau Oakfield Golf & Country Club closely follows at 162.
Karla Wilms River Hills Golf Club fired an impressive 78 today for a two-day total of 157. Karla leads the Senior Division by 10 strokes over defending champ Debbie Arsenault Eaglequest Grandview Golf & Country Club. Debbie’s two-day total is 167.
The final round of this event begins at 8am tomorrow and fingers are crossed for playable weather.
