2019 Men’s Amateur and Junior Championships changed to 54-hole competition

2019 Men’s Amateur and Junior Championships changed to 54-hole competition
The Nova Scotia Golf Association is pleased to announce the following changes to the Men’s Amateur and Junior Championship taking place in 2019.
Both of these tournaments will be reduced to 3-day championships. Previously both were held over 72-holes with a cut to the low 60 and ties following the second and third round respectively. Beginning in 2019 there will be no cut in either championship. Players will be guaranteed three competitive rounds.
The rationale behind this decision resulted from feedback from both competitors and parents. Reducing the rounds to 54-hole competitions lessen the amount of travel and costs for our competitors. It will also allow the host clubs a quicker turnaround for their membership.
The 2019 MCT Men’s Amateur Championship will held on July 5-7 at the Abercrombie Golf Club.
The 2019 COBRA PUMA Junior Championship will be held on July 9-11 at the Truro Golf Club.
The 2019 Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship will be hosted in Halifax at the Glen Arbour Golf Club and the Brunello Golf Club on August 5-9. The NSGA has 10-quota spots for the Canadian Men’s Amateur that will be allocated to competitors based on the results of the 2019 MCT Men’s Amateur Championship.
