2021 NSGA Women’s AM/SR – Day One Media Release

The 2021 Women’s Amateur & Senior Championship kicked off today at the beautiful Clare Golf & Country Club. A cool and rainy day challenged the 57 competitors on the first of the three-day event.

Heather McLean (KenWo Country Club) and Abbey Baker (Ashburn Golf Club) lead the Amateur Division with scores of 78 (+6). Following closely are Abby Wamboldt (Northumberland Links) with an 80 and Sara Cumby (KenWo Country Club) with an 82.

Jennifer Comeau (Oakfield Golf & Country Club) leads the Mid-Amateur Division with the low round of the day 77. Cristal Romero (Eaglequest Grandview Golf & Country Club) sits in second place with an 81, and Mireille Lewis (Clare Golf & Country Club) in the third position with an 82.

The Senior Division has Karla Wilms (River Hills Golf Club) leading the way. Karla fired a 79 and has a five-shot lead over defending champion Debbie Arsenault (Eaglequest Grandview Golf & Country Club).

Day two commences at 8am tomorrow (July 3).

The Nova Scotia Golf Association (NSGA) is the governing body of golf in Nova Scotia. Representing approximately 13,000 members and 58 facilities across the province.
