2021 NSGA Men’s Fourball, postponed

Good Afternoon NSGA Members and Competitors,

Due to the current NS Government and Public Health restrictions, we are forced to postpone the Men’s Four-Ball event scheduled for Jun 12/13, 2021.

While the travel restriction within the provinces has been lifted, there are still no games, competitions or tournaments permitted. One could argue that a tournament with progressive starting times is like a regular tee-sheet; however, it is the spirit of the protocols to eliminate gatherings as much as possible.

The NSGA has approached NS Health regarding future club and provincial events. Our hope is to have a clear approach as event dates move closer. We will, of course, share this information once it is clarified.

While Hartlen Point Force Golf Club cannot host this event later this year, we thank them sincerely for their efforts and for allowing us to make a final decision this late in the game. We are in search of an alternate date and host for the 2021 Men’s Four-Ball Championship.

The registration list for this event will remain the same unless you contact us to cancel your registration. Details on event charges etc. will be made available once an alternate date is selected.
Sincerely,
Jason Lohnes, NSGA Executive Director

NSGA COVID-19 Championship Protocol Update

The Nova Scotia Golf Association is compliant with all public health restrictions and guidelines put in place by the Nova Scotia Health Authority and the Nova Scotia Government.

For more information on the current protocols in place, please visit the NS Government COVID-19 information webpage.

For 2021 NSGA Provincial Championships, the NSGA Championships Committee and Board of Directors have put in place the following protocol:

The NSGA will assess each championship 2-3 weeks out of the championship (host club preference). Based on the protocols and restrictions in place at the time of assessment, the NSGA will determine whether or not they can facilitate a championship, ensuring the safety of our volunteers, competitors and staff is a priority.

At this time, if protocols permit events to take place, the NSGA will also assess event logistics (e.g. field size, split tees vs. straight tee times, etc.) Once the NSGA has finalized any decisions in regards to a championship, communication will first be sent out to host clubs and competitors. An official announcement will then be made public shortly after.

Please see below the assessment dates per championship.
