Nova Scotia’s Tucker Doiron competed in a stacked field at the US Junior Amateur Qualifier on Monday, June 8th

The qualifier featured 70 of Canada’s top junior athletes at the challenging Chilliwack Golf Club in British Columbia.  The qualifier offers 3 spots into the field for the 78th US Junior Amateur Championship, to be held at Saucon Valley C.C. in Bethlehem, PA, from July 20-25, 2026.

Tucker shot an impressive 4-under par round of 68 that featured an eagle and four birdies.  His performance had placed him in a 3-person playoff for the final qualifying spot, where he earned the 1st alternate position after a 7-hole playoff.

Tucker will await a call from the USGA as he remains high on the alternate list for what is well known as the best junior tournament in the world, the 78th US Junior Amateur Championship.

Tucker is a member of the Nova Scotia Junior Development Team and has shown tremendous dedication to improving in every aspect of the game.  His desire to compete at the highest levels in junior golf is proving that his work in Nova Scotia is paying off at the national and international stage.

AccessAbility Week 2026

National AccessAbility Week takes place every year, starting on the last Sunday in May.

For 2026, join us from May 31 to June 6 to celebrate and promote:

  • the valuable contributions and leadership of persons with disabilities in Canada
  • the work of allies, organizations and communities that are removing barriers
  • ongoing efforts to become a more accessible and disability-inclusive Canada

This year’s National AccessAbility Week theme is “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada.”

It invites all of us, including governments, businesses, organizations, and individuals, to take action to advance a barrier-free country. Significant progress has been made to eliminate and prevent barriers, and by continuing to work together, we can build a truly accessible, inclusive and equitable Canada.

Our country is stronger when persons with disabilities can participate fully in all aspects of society.

Together, we can empower each other and make a meaningful impact.
