Golf NS Welcomes Shaun Margeson as New Technical Director
Shaun also competed at the collegiate level, playing college golf at the College of Coastal Georgia, where he further developed his competitive foundation and passion for the game.
Beyond his accomplishments on the course, Shaun is deeply committed to growing the game and supporting the development pathway for athletes and coaches throughout the province. His experience as both a competitor and a PGA professional uniquely positions him to strengthen our high-performance programs while continuing to build opportunities at every level of the game.
We are excited for this next chapter and confident that Shaun’s leadership, knowledge, and competitive insight will have a lasting impact on golf in Nova Scotia.
Please join us in giving Shaun a warm welcome to the Golf Nova Scotia team!
As we recognize African Heritage Month, we’re proud to highlight a historic moment in Nova Scotia golf history.
Pictured here are members of the 1963 Nova Scotia Junior Boys Team — George Williams, John Nauss, Jack Bryant, and Jim Maxwell — who represented the province at the Canadian National Championships.
History made: Jim Maxwell became the first African Nova Scotian to represent Nova Scotia on any provincial golf team, and quite possibly the first to compete at Nationals.
That legacy continued in 1965, when Darrell Maxwell won the Nova Scotia Junior Championship in a playoff and became the second African Nova Scotian to represent Team Nova Scotia at the national level.
We celebrate their achievements, their impact, and the path they helped pave for future generations.
