Chandler & Arsenault Crowned
2019 Women’s Amateur and Senior Champions
The 14 Wing Greenwood Golf Club has lived up to its nickname, “The Challenge”. It’s narrow fairways and fast greens tested the top female golfers in the province this weekend.
It was a like déjà vu at the 2019 Women’s Amateur & Senior Championship. In 2017 Allison Chandler and Debbie Arsenault both captured thier first Amateur and Senior Championships, respectively.
Allison Chandler, a junior at Gardner-Webb University, captured her second NSGA Women’s Amateur title today. The Chester Golf Club member managed to maintain her lead after carding a steady 80 in the final round. Chandler finished the tournament with a 242 total.
Finishing only 2-shots back of Chandler, in second place, was Stetson University sophomore and Ken-Wo member, Meghan McLean. McLean fired a tournament low round of 79 during the final round, and finished with a 3-day total of 244.
Placing 3rd in the championship was Abercrombie’s Julia Henderson, with a three day total of 247.
Cristal Romero of Grandview won Overall Low Net for the Amateur Championship.
2019 Women’s Amateur Champion – Allison Chandler
Debbie Arsenault from the Grandview Golf Club fended off the field to finish the championship with a three day total of 249. Arsenault carded a final round of 87 today and won the 2019 NSGA Women’s Senior by three strokes.
Defending champion, Susan Tumblin from Oakfield, finished in second place with a 3-day total of 252. Rounding out the top three was Ashburn’s Joanie McCarville, who finished with a total of 254.
Debbie Walker from Paragon claimed top spot for division 2, finishing with a three-day total of 273.
Margaret McLean, of Ken-Wo, finished Overall Low Net for the Senior Championship.

Allison Chandler, Meghan McLean and Julia Henderson will be representing Team Nova Scotia at the 106th Canadian Women’s Amateur at Red Deer Golf & Country Club in Red Deer Alberta. For more information on the championship, please CLICK HERE.
