Baddeck, N.S. – Today was yet another perfect golf day in beautiful Baddeck N.S. Bell Bay Golf Club held it’s own against some of the provinces top senior golfers for round two of the 2019 #GolfBeattieStong Men’s Senior.
Ashburns Mike Hebb managed to increase his lead by one stroke today, after carding four birdies and 3 bogies, to finish with a steady 1-under-par 71. Giving him a two day total of 6-under-par, 138. Five shots back and in second place, with a two day total of 1-under 143 is defending champion and Cape Breton’s own, Jim MacMaster. MacMaster moved up the leaderboard after firing a low 2-under-par 70. Rounding out the top three is Terry Moore from Penn Hills, who also carded a 2-under-par 70 today. Moore sits only one shot back from MacMaster, with a two day total of 144.
Jim MacMaster also leads the Super Senior division (65+). Six shots back, and in 2nd place is Gary Melanson from Covered Bridge GC in New Brunswick. Melanson fired an even 72 today, for a two day total of 5-over-par 149.
Leading the way in Division 2 is Phil Howlett of Bay of Quinte G & CC. Howlett carded a 6-over-par 78, for a two day total of 149. Two shots back is Denis McGuire from Penn Hills.

Top three competitors will represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Men’s Senior Championship at Cedar Brae GC in Scarborough ON. The top Super Senior of the competition (65+ years of age) will earn an exemption spot into the national championship.
