McLean and Chandler win the 2019 COBRA PUMA Junior Championship

Heather McLean captures her second and final COBRA PUMA Junior Girls Championship 
Mark Chandler wins the COBRA PUMA Junior Boys Championship in a 3-hole playoff 
Heather McLean 2019 Junior Girls Champion
For the second year around in a row Heather McLean from the Ken-Wo Golf Club has won the COBRA PUMA Junior Girls Championship at the Truro Golf Club. The 18-year old member of the NSGA Junior Development Team and a Junior with the Wagner University Golf Team in New York, NY. This marks Heather’s eighth and final junior championship. “It’s funny that I played my first junior at Abercrombie 8-years ago and shot 143 in my first round, now I just won my second principal title.” said Heather following her round today. McLean fired a three over par 75 to finish the championship with a total of 225.
Abbey Baker 2019 Juvenile Champion
Finishing in second place, and the new COBRA PUMA Juvenile Girls (U17) Champion is Abbey Baker from Ashburn. The 14-year old Baker carded a final round 77 to with 3-day total of 237.
Finishing in third place was Sara Cumby from Ken-Wo. McLean, Baker, and Cumby will represent Nova Scotia at the 2019 Canadian Junior Girls Championship at the Lethbridge Golf Club in Alberta from July 30-August 2.
Mark Chandler 2019 Junior Championship
After a three hole playoff, Mark Chandler from the Chester Golf Club won his first COBRA PUMA Junior Boys Championship. Chandler finished with a three-day total of 224 after firing a final round 78. The 17-year old NSGA Junior Development Team member completed his wire-to-wire in dramatic fashion after parring the final playoff to defeat Owen Mullen from the Truro Golf Club. Mullen, also a member of the NSGA Development Team, fought hard all day long and fired a two-over 73 to finish tied for the lead.

Despite coming up short for the Junior Championship, Mullen did win the COBRA PUMA Juvenile Championship (U17). Mullen finished 5-strokes, ahead of Ben Childs from Ashburn to capture his first Juvenile Championship.
Finishing alone in third place was Truro native, Isaac MacNaughton. The Truro member fired low round today after carding a one over par 72.
MacNaughton, Mullen and Chandler will represent Nova Scotia in the Canadian Junior Boys Championship at the Covered Bridge Golf Club in Hartlen, NB on Aug 12-15.
