Purcell and McGinnis capture the 2020 NSGA Women’s Bronze

The Chester Golf Club hosted the 2020 Women’s Bronze Championship today under near perfect weather conditions. A total of 14 member clubs and 58 women competed from across Nova Scotia.
The Bronze is a net championship where competitors qualify through their home clubs. This annual championship requires competitors to have a 19.0 factor or greater at the time of qualifying. Clubs can field teams of up to five competitors and the lowest two net scores are combined to determine a team championship.
When the dust settled, the team of Lorraine Purcell and Cathy McGinnis from the Avon Valley Golf Club finished atop the field. The team carded a combined net total of 129 (-14).
Finishing two strokes behind the winners was the team of Judy Kiley and Joanne Murphy from the Oakfield Golf Club, who finished with a net 130 (-12).
Beth Reage and Margot MacDonald from the Grandview Golf Club finished in third place by retrogression with a team net score of 133 (-9).
