Williamson & Kelly Tied for lead at MCT Men’s Amateur

New Minas, N.S. – The first round of the 2020 MCT Men’s Amateur Championship has concluded at Ken-Wo Golf Club. The amazing course conditions, and weather conditions set the stage for some impressively low scores across the board.
Ashburn members David Williamson, a two-time MCT Men’s Amateur Champion, and Ewan Kelly Jr. currently sit atop the leaderboard after they both carded a solid 4-under-par, 66.

Only one-shot off the lead, and currently in third place, is Ben Chasse of Oakfield Golf & Country Club.

Rounding out the the top five are two more Ashburn members, Jake Smith and Owen Canavan. The pair are tied after firing 2-under, 68. In total, seven competitors finished in the red, setting up this years event to be an exciting one.

During tomorrow’s round, Jaguar/Land Rover Halifax has sponsored a hole-in-one price on hole No. 2. The first lucky competitor to ace the 168 yard par 3, will walk away with a new car!
